We are based at D-171 in the Oshiwara Industrial Centre. It’s right by the bus depot on Link Road, opposite the Oshiwara area in Goregaon West. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets with the buses constantly coming and going. We are Star Shipshore Caterers Pvt Ltd. Our space is basically a big industrial kitchen. We have huge stoves and massive refrigerators to keep everything fresh. It gets very noisy with the exhaust fans humming all day long. We start our work when most people are still sleeping, getting the ingredients ready for the day's orders. There are stacks of crates and giant cooking pots everywhere you look. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the whole team is in there working. We have to be quick and stay out of each other's way. The floors are concrete and they get washed down every night. We don't have a storefront where you can come and eat a meal. It is all about the catering and getting the food out to where it needs to go. Being near the Link Road helps with the transport, even if the Goregaon traffic is a nightmare most afternoons. We just focus on the cooking and making sure the boxes are packed right before the trucks leave. It's a lot of physical work and the days are long, but we just get on with it. It keeps us busy.
