Snacks

Lower Parel has changed a lot, with all these big glass buildings and malls popping up everywhere. But we are just a small spot called Snacks, tucked away where the office workers usually find us. Most of our regulars are people who work in the nearby towers and just need a break from their desks. They come down for a quick tea or something small to eat when they can't wait for dinner. We started this because there weren't many places left that weren't super expensive or trying too hard to be cool. It's just a counter, really. We keep the tea hot and the snacks ready. Some days it’s so busy we barely have time to breathe, but that’s just how it goes in this part of Mumbai. You see the same faces every day, which is nice. You get to know who likes more sugar in their tea and who wants their food extra spicy. We don’t have a big menu. Just a few things we know how to make well without making a mess of it. The traffic outside is always loud, and there’s always construction going on somewhere nearby, but inside our little space, it’s just about getting a quick bite. We aren't trying to change the world or anything. We just want to make sure people don't go back to their offices on an empty stomach. It’s plain and simple work for us. Every day is the same, but that’s fine with us.
