Smruti Chitra

Smruti Chitra has been around Walkeshwar for a good while now. We are tucked away at number 14 in the Poornanand building on Dongarshi Road. It is a quiet enough street, but Mumbai 400006 is always a bit busy. Our workspace isn't something you’d call fancy or corporate. It is just a regular office where we handle all our photo and art work. We spend most of our mornings opening up the windows and getting the desks ready for the day’s tasks. People from the neighborhood often drop by to talk about prints or some framing they need done. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the craft. Sometimes the rain makes the walls a bit damp, but that is just how these old buildings are. We focus on the work right in front of us. Whether it is an old family portrait that needs a bit of care or a new set of pictures, we just do what is needed. There are no big meetings or fancy presentations here. We mostly just drink our tea and get the orders out on time. Walkeshwar has changed quite a bit since we first started, but we like our little corner here. It feels like home after all these years.
