Our place is situated at 93 Nandalal Jani Road over in Masjid Bunder West. We are really close to the Masjid Bunder Railway Station, which is handy because that whole area is always packed with goods and people moving every which way. Being so near the station means there is never a quiet moment from morning until night. We deal with cargo and shipping, so there are always heavy sacks and wooden boxes piled up near the entrance waiting to be loaded onto a truck or sent toward Pune. It is a gritty part of town, full of old buildings and narrow lanes where you have to be very careful not to get bumped by a handcart or a bicycle. We spend our days tracking shipments and making sure the paperwork is in order for the guys who do the heavy lifting in the back. The office itself is pretty basic, just a place to keep the records and take calls from people asking where their stuff has reached. Sometimes the traffic on Nandalal Jani Road gets so backed up that our deliveries take much longer than they should, but that is just part of working in this part of the city. We also have a presence towards Chinchwad in Pune, so we are constantly coordinating between the two spots to keep things moving. It is a lot of manual work, checking labels and making sure nothing gets crushed under the heavier crates during transit in the trucks.
