Singhs Kitchen

If you know the Khar area, you probably know 15th Road. We are tucked into the Kudrat Building at number 501. It’s a decent spot, right next to the Gabbana Showroom. Sometimes people get lost looking for us because they get distracted by the China Garden restaurant nearby. Singhs Kitchen isn't a massive operation with hundreds of employees. It is just a handful of us working in the space we have. The building itself is older, and you can hear the traffic from the main road all day long. We start early, usually when the shops are just opening up. Khar is an expensive part of town, but our kitchen is pretty basic. We focus on getting the cooking done right. There isn't any fancy decor or a lobby for people to wait in. We spend our time checking the ingredients and making sure the stove is hot. Working in this part of Mumbai is fast. Everything moves quickly, and we just try to keep up with the daily pace. You’ll see us carrying bags and containers in and out throughout the afternoon. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired. But that’s how it goes when you’re running a kitchen. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in. It is just a normal kitchen doing normal things for the people around here.
