Shubham Pharma

Andheri West is always moving. It never really stops. Shubham Pharma is right in the thick of it here in Mumbai. If you know this area, you know how crowded the streets get. We spend a lot of time just dealing with the pace of the city. Our space is tucked into a corner, and it’s a bit cramped because we have so much stuff to fit in. We’ve got shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. It’s a struggle to keep it tidy when deliveries come in every day. Mumbai weather is tough on the building, so we’re always fixing a leak or painting a wall. Most of the people who come in are locals who have lived in Andheri for years. You see the same faces every Tuesday or Friday. We don’t do any fancy advertising or anything like that. We just stay open late because that’s when people are getting off work. The noise from the traffic is constant, but it’s like background music now. Sometimes we have to shout over the honking just to talk to a customer. It’s a small team here. We make our own tea in the back. It’s a simple setup. We focus on getting the right boxes to the right people. Nothing more than that. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us on our toes. We don't have much room for a break room, so we just sit on the stools near the counter when it's quiet.
