Shree Prasad

Our place, Shree Prasad, is tucked away in the Jogupalya area of Malad East, right near the HAL 2nd Stage. Finding us for the first time can be a bit tricky if you aren't familiar with these streets, but once people find us, they usually come back. It’s a small operation, mostly just a couple of us handling everything from the cooking to the cleaning. We don't have any corporate backing or big investors; it’s just a local business trying to make it through the week. The daily routine is pretty much the same every day. We arrive, check the supplies, and get the kitchen ready for the lunch rush. It’s a lot of manual labor, carrying heavy bags of rice and crates of vegetables through the narrow door. The space inside is tight, so we have to stay organized or we’d never get anything done. We don't have a fancy website or a social media manager posting pictures of our food. If the food is good, people tell their neighbors, and that’s how we’ve stayed open this long. There’s an old fan in the corner that rattles when it’s on high, and the tiles on the floor are a bit worn down from all the foot traffic. It’s just a plain, honest shop where we work hard and try to keep things moving. We aren't trying to change the world; we're just making sure the people in Malad East have a place to eat and feel a bit better.
