Shree Kateel Pan Shop

Shree Kateel Pan Shop is tucked away near the Renaissance Landmark in Mahim Bazar. It’s a busy corner on the 10th Main, especially around the 17th Cross. We’ve been operating out of this small nook for a long time. The market noise is part of our daily routine. We start by cleaning the area and setting out the fresh leaves. It’s important to keep things neat, even if the space is tiny and cramped. We see all sorts of people, from office workers to local residents just out for a walk. Some stop for a sweet pan, others want something stronger. We don't have a lot of help, so it’s usually just us managing the jars and the customers. The smell of the spices we use fills the air around the shop all day long. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming when it’s hot out, but we have a small fan that helps a little bit. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, with new buildings going up, but our little shop stays pretty much the same as it always was. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. If people want to find us, they just look for the landmark and walk over. It’s a steady life. We take pride in how we fold the leaf and tuck the ingredients in so nothing leaks. It’s just a small shop in a big city, doing what we do best for the folks who live nearby.
