Shree Brijwasi Sweet & Namkeen Corner

Down here in Kandivali West at number 7, things stay pretty busy throughout the week. It is mostly just us trying to keep the shelves filled with enough namkeen for the evening rush. You know how it is when everyone finishes work and wants something salty to take home. The fryers are usually going for most of the afternoon. It gets quite stuffy in the back room where we do all the prep work. We have got bags of flour and spices stacked up near the door because there is not much storage space left in this unit. Sometimes the labels on the jars are a little crooked, but the food inside is what matters I guess. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but this corner stays pretty much the same. We have a regular crowd that comes in, mostly people living in the apartment buildings nearby. Sometimes we forget to put the sign out front until ten in the morning because we are distracted. It is just me and a couple of others trying to keep up with everything. If the phone rings while we are busy packing a big order, it might take a minute for someone to pick it up. We do not have a fancy computer system or anything like that. We just write things down in a notebook and hope we can read our own handwriting later. It is a simple way to work.
