Our shop is in the Deepanjali Building over in Daulat Nagar, Malad West. If you walk by, you’ll probably see us moving poles, folding up big pieces of cloth, or sorting through decorations. We do a lot of work for local weddings and functions. It’s a lot of physical labor, honestly. We spend hours setting up mandaps and making sure everything is tied down right so it doesn't fall over if the wind picks up. Most of the time our hands are dirty from handling the materials. We’ve been working out of Bafira Nag for quite some time now. People in the neighborhood know us because they see our trucks loaded up with stuff early in the morning. We don’t have a fancy showroom. We just show people photos of what we’ve done before on our phones or in a beat-up album. It’s honest work. Sometimes we’re working late into the night to get a stage ready for the next morning. We’ve seen all sorts of requests, from simple setups to things that take all day to build. We just use what we have and make it work for the space. It’s mostly just us and a few helpers getting things moved from the truck to the venue and back again. It keeps us busy all year round and we don't mind the sweat. It's better than sitting at a desk all day. We just want the stage to look decent when the family arrives.
