Shisha Fashions

Shisha Fashions is tucked away in 14 Sai Commercial Centre on Govandi Station Road. Being near the station means it is always noisy outside with people rushing to catch trains. Our space is on the second floor. It’s not a huge place, but we have managed to fit everything we need into it. We work on all sorts of fashion items. Most of the day is spent cutting patterns or checking the finish on the hemlines. We have a small crew, and we’ve all been working together for a long time. The Sai Commercial Centre is a busy building with lots of other small businesses, so there is always someone coming and going. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. We just have our work tables and the storage racks for the finished pieces. Sometimes the lift in the building breaks down, and we have to carry the boxes down the stairs, which is quite a workout. We don’t have a website or anything like that. Most of our customers just know where we are and come to see us when they need something made. We keep a pot of tea going in the corner for anyone who stops by. It’s a basic operation, but it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We just focus on the clothes and try to stay out of the chaos of the station road outside.
