Shehnai Banquet Hall

You can find us at Vertex Vikas, right across from the Andheri railway station. It is a very busy spot. Being near the Sahar International Hotel in Koldongri means there are always cars and people moving around outside. The hall itself is part of the building, and we spend most of our time getting things ready for whatever is happening next. The station noise is just something we have gotten used to over the years. We spend a lot of our mornings checking the lights and making sure the floor is clean. It’s a big room, so it takes some time to get across it. Sometimes the elevators in the building are slow, which can be a bit annoying when we are in a rush. We don't have any fancy signs out on the main road, just the name on the building directory. It’s a local place through and through. Most people who come here are from around the neighborhood or have a connection to Andheri. We keep the place tidy and ready for use. It isn't a glamorous job, mostly just moving chairs and checking the plumbing. The heat in the afternoon can be a bit much, but we have the fans going. It’s just a practical space where people can gather together. We are usually here from early morning until quite late at night depending on what is going on. It is just how things go in this part of Mumbai for us and the people we see.
