Being located at Parel Main Road 1 means we are right in the thick of the Mumbai rush. Sheetal Caterers & Decorators has been here for a good while, and we’ve seen the street change quite a bit. It’s a noisy spot, with trucks and buses constantly rumbling past, but we’ve gotten used to it. Our place is packed with all sorts of things—huge cooking pots, bundles of fabric, and stacks of chairs that we use for events. It’s not the most organized-looking shop, but we know exactly where everything is. Most days, we’re just loading or unloading stuff from the vans. The dust from the main road is a constant battle, so we’re always cleaning something. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If someone wants to talk to us, they usually just walk in and find us among the decor. It’s a family-style environment where everyone chips in. We handle the food and the look of the place, which means we’re always worrying about two things at once. The heat in Parel can be pretty intense, especially when the stoves are going in the back. We just put the fans on and keep moving. We don’t have any grand slogans or anything like that. We just focus on getting the decorations straight and the food hot. That’s pretty much the whole story of our daily life here. It's busy and loud but we like it.
