R. K. Bags

R. K. Bags is located at No. 39 Chippi Chawl. We’re in Room No. 5 on the first floor, right on Shamshet Street. If you’ve ever been to this part of the city, you know how narrow the streets are and how packed the buildings can be. Our space is small, but we pack a lot into it. We make and store all kinds of bags here. You’ll see rolls of canvas, zippers, and thread scattered around the room. It’s a humble setup, but it’s where we do all our work. Going up the stairs to the first floor can be a bit of a climb when you’re carrying heavy materials, but we’re used to it by now. The Chawl is always full of life, with different businesses operating out of every room. It’s noisy and sometimes it gets quite hot, but it’s a good community. We’ve been operating out of Room 5 for a long time. People come to us when they need something sturdy to carry their things in. We don't do any big marketing; mostly it’s just people from the street or old customers who know where to find us. We spend our days cutting material and stitching things together. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We just try to keep the machines in good shape and the bags moving out the door. That is what a normal day looks like for us here in this small spot. It keeps us on our feet.
