Shagun Party Lawn

The lawn is tucked away inside the Bombay Garage compound in Chembur Colony. If you know the area, we are right on R C Marg, just across from the Nirankari Bhavan. It is quite a big space for this part of town. We spend a lot of time just keeping the grass green and making sure the fences look okay. Being in Chembur East, it gets quite busy around here on weekends. We see a lot of different people coming through for their events. Usually, we are busy setting up tables or moving things around to make room. It is not a quiet job. There is always something that needs fixing or a corner that needs sweeping. The location is pretty easy to find once you get into the compound. We don't really have a big office, mostly just the open space and a small area for storage. The weather can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, especially when it rains, but that is just how it is with an outdoor place. People usually come by to look at the lawn before they decide anything. We show them around and explain how the space works. It is a simple setup, really. No fancy decorations are kept here permanently, we just bring in what is needed for the day. It’s a lot of physical work, but seeing the lawn ready for an evening is always a good feeling after a long day of prep. I think we have been here long enough that the compound feels like home.
