I operate out of room 704 in the New Parivar society over in Kandivali West. It’s right there on SG Road, inside the GSR complex. It’s a residential building, so the atmosphere is pretty quiet compared to the main road outside. I’ve set up my workspace near the window so I can see the traffic moving along SG Road. It helps me keep track of the time. The elevator in this building is a bit slow, so I usually tell people to give it a few extra minutes. It’s not a big commercial office with a receptionist. It’s just me in a room with my computer and some books. I’ve been in Kandivali for years, and I like being in a spot that feels like a home. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are loud in the hallway, but that’s just part of living in a co-operative housing society. I don't have a big staff or anything like that. I handle everything myself, from answering calls to filing my own papers. The walls are painted a light cream color that’s starting to fade near the light switches. I don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most people just find me because they live nearby or heard about me from someone else in the building. It’s a simple life, and I like the routine of waking up and starting work right here in 704.
