You can find us over at 22 Gujar Street on Sandhut Road. It’s a small street and sometimes the delivery vans have a hard time getting through, but we make it work. We’ve been at this address for quite a while now. The shop is a bit narrow, so we have to be careful with how we stack things. It’s mostly my family working here. We start our day by pulling up the shutters and setting out some of the items. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving things around. The light in here isn't the best, so we use some extra lamps even during the day. We don't have a big sign out front, just the name above the door. Most people who come here are locals or people who have been told about us by their friends. We don't do any advertising or anything like that. We just rely on being here every day. Sometimes the heat gets a bit much in the afternoons, so we sit near the door to catch whatever breeze comes down the street. We keep a ledger for all the accounts and write everything down by hand. It might seem old-fashioned to some, but it works for us. Gujar Street has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of it. We like the familiar faces and the steady pace of the work we do. It is a quiet life.
