Sanjay Decorators

Sanjay Decorators is based in Kandivali East, over in Sahyog Nagar at 9-B. Our work is mostly about getting ready for the next event, which means our storage space is usually a bit of a mess. We have stacks of folded cloth, bundles of bamboo poles, and crates filled with various decorative items piled up high. It is a lot of physical labor, loading and unloading trucks at odd hours of the night and early morning. Kandivali is a large area, and we are often rushing from one spot to another to get things set up on time. Our shop at Sahyog Nagar is where we do all the prep work, like checking the lights or mending tears in the drapes. It isn't a showroom; it’s more of a staging ground. The staff is usually busy untangling wires or painting frames. We don't use fancy computer systems for our planning; it’s mostly just notes scribbled on paper and a lot of phone calls to coordinate the labor. Sometimes the weather ruins our plans, especially when it’s windy or raining, and we have to fix things on the fly. It is a stressful job in some ways because everything has to be ready by a certain hour, but we have been doing it long enough to know how to handle the pressure. It’s just us working hard to make sure the physical setup is done right for whoever needs it.
