Sangeeta Sweets

Our shop, Sangeeta Sweets, is over in Cumballa Hill near Hegade Nagar. It’s a bit of an interesting spot to be in, and we’ve been here for a good while. Every morning we start by checking the stock of milk and sugar, because without those, we can't do much. Making sweets is a slow process, and you can't really rush it if you want it to turn out okay. The shop is kept clean, but it’s definitely not a designer space. We have some old shelves and a refrigerator that makes a bit of noise, but it keeps things cold. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy packaging. Most of our customers come in because they live nearby and want something sweet after dinner. We have our regulars who like to chat for a bit while we wrap up their orders. Sometimes the days feel long, especially when it’s quiet and we’re just waiting for someone to walk in. We spend those times cleaning the containers or reorganizing the display. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed pretty much the same. We just keep making the sweets and putting them in the case. It’s not a complicated life. We have our good days and our bad days just like anyone else. We just try to stay open and keep the lights on for the folks around Hegade Nagar who know us.
