My office is in the Old Hanuman Building on Shamrao Vithal Marg, which is just off Lamington Road. Specifically, it’s 6/57. If you’re looking for us, we’re right next to the Shamrao Vitthal Bank, off Dr Bhakamkerr Road. Lamington Road is a pretty intense place to work, always full of people and electronics and noise. It suits the way I work, actually. I’m Sandesh Shekatkar, and I’ve been running this business from this old building for quite some time. The walls are a bit thin and the lift is sometimes temperamental, but it’s got character. We do a bit of everything here, mostly focused on getting things organized for people who are too busy to do it themselves. It’s a lot of manual work and checking details. I don't have a big marketing department or a fancy website. Most of my clients come from word of mouth or people just walking by in the neighborhood. We aren't trying to change the world or anything. We just provide a service that people need. Some days the office is a mess with papers and samples, but we know where everything is. It’s a very local way of doing business. We know the shopkeepers nearby and we know the guys at the bank. It feels like being part of a real community here on Shamrao Vithal Marg. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes in.
