Saaz Aur Awaaz

We are up on the first floor of Sai Sadan, right across from the Gururaj Housing Society in Goregaon West. Our place is 379. It’s a spot where we focus on music and sound. You can usually hear something playing if you walk past the door. We spend a lot of time with instruments and recording gear. It’s not a fancy studio with gold records on the wall; it’s more of a practical space where we get things done. We have people coming in to practice or record bits of music. Sometimes it gets quite loud, but the neighbors in Goregaon are mostly used to it by now. We spend our days tangled in cables or trying to get the levels just right on the mixer. It’s a lot of listening and re-listening to the same few bars of a song. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know our way around the equipment. The building itself is just a regular spot, but inside we’ve got everything we need. It's a bit cluttered with mic stands and instrument cases, but that's just how a music space ends up looking. If you’re looking for us, just head to the first floor. We’re usually there from morning until late, depending on who is finishing up a session. It’s a good way to spend the day if you like music as much as we do. It's messy but it works for us.
