S S Creations

S S Creations is found in Tangewala Chawl, which is in the Kajuwadi area on Chakala Road in Andheri (E). It’s a very crowded part of the city, and space is always a bit tight. Living and working in a chawl means you are never really alone; there is always someone passing by the door or shouting a greeting. We have our small setup here where we handle everything. The walls are painted a simple blue, though the paint is peeling in some spots near the ceiling. During the monsoon, the rain hits the roof so loud we have to shout to hear each other. We work on Chakala Road where the traffic never seems to stop, even late at night. Our day starts when the sun comes up and the tea stall nearby opens. We don't have any corporate managers or fancy offices. It is just a few of us sitting at our machines, day in and day out. Sometimes the fabric deliveries get stuck in the narrow lanes of Kajuwadi, so we have to go out and help carry the bundles in by hand. We’ve been here long enough that we know every crack in the pavement outside. It is a busy, loud, and sometimes messy way to work, but it is what we do. We just keep our heads down and finish the orders that come in. It’s a real place with real people just trying to make a living.
