Our place is over at D14 Libra in Jankalyan Nagar. It’s tucked away in Malad West, right on Marve Road. If you know where the fire station is in Malad West, then you’re pretty close to our office. It’s a decent area, though the roads can get a bit blocked up when there’s a lot of activity at the station. We’ve been operating out of here for some time now. It’s more of a home-style office than anything else you’d see in a big city. We don’t have those big glass walls or receptionists in suits. It’s just us sitting around desks, making phone calls and checking lists. Sometimes the neighborhood is quiet, but other times it feels like the whole of Mumbai is passing by on Marve Road. We keep our supplies and files organized as much as we can, but things get messy when we are in the middle of a big project. That’s just how it goes. We try to keep things simple. Most of our day is spent talking to people or figuring out logistics for the next job. Being near the fire station is a good landmark because everyone knows where it is. It’s not a glamorous spot, but it’s where we get the work done every day. The breeze from the coast sometimes makes it all the way here, which is nice when the afternoon heat gets to be too much.
