Renuka Medico

We are located at 36 Chembur, which is a fairly easy spot to find if you’re familiar with the area. Renuka Medico is a small place, mostly just shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling and a glass counter that’s seen a lot of use over the years. The lighting inside is a bit bright, but it helps us read the small labels on everything. We spend our days mostly pulling things off shelves and putting them into small paper bags. There is a specific way the shop smells—a mix of soap and that clean medicine scent. Sometimes the phone rings and we have to tell someone we don’t have exactly what they want, but usually, we can find a way to help out. It gets a bit crowded when more than three people are inside at once. We’ve got a small fan behind the counter that doesn’t do much, but we keep it running anyway. Outside, the Chembur streets are always moving. We see the same faces every day, people going to the market or coming home from the station. We don't really do much in the way of decorating. A few calendars on the wall and a small clock that is five minutes fast is about it. It’s a quiet life here, just keeping track of the inventory and making sure everything is in its right place. We stay open late because that’s when people seem to need us the most.
