We’ve been working out of Kalachowki Chawl No 273 for quite some time now. Our room, 2169, is usually full of stuff we need for the next job. Goregaon West is a busy place and we are right in the middle of it. Sometimes the traffic makes things slow but we manage to get our equipment where it needs to go. We started small and stayed that way because it's easier to handle everything ourselves. Most days involve checking on fabrics or looking at lights. People around here know us because we’ve been in this building for years. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a practical space where we keep our tools and plan the day. If you walk past the Lin area, you might see us loading up the van early in the morning. It gets hot in the afternoons but the work has to happen regardless of the weather. We don’t really do much advertising because most people just find us by word of mouth or by seeing the address. It’s a simple setup. We spend more time on site than we do sitting at the desk in room 2169. Life in the chawl is loud and fast but we like it here. It’s home for the business and it’s where everything gets sorted before we head out to the next location. Sometimes the rain makes the stairs slippery when we're moving heavy things, but we’re used to it. We keep things organized as best as we can.
