We’ve been running Ravik Arts & Printers Pvt Ltd from the second floor of the A 24 building in Wadala for a good while. Getting the paper up to the second floor is always a bit of a challenge, especially when we get the large rolls. The stairs are narrow, so we have to be careful. Inside, the space is dominated by the printing presses. They take up most of the room and make a steady thumping sound when they are running. There is always a smell of ink and fresh paper in the air, which we don’t even notice anymore. We have tables set up for sorting and cutting the finished prints. We’ve had some of these machines for years and they still run fine. It’s a bit cramped when we have a lot of jobs going at once. We don't have a reception desk or a waiting lounge. If you come by, you’ll probably find us standing around the main machine or checking the color on a proof. The windows stay open to let out the heat from the motors, so you can hear the Wadala traffic outside. Our desks are buried under stacks of samples and old job folders. It’s a busy, messy environment, but it works for what we do. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the ink onto the paper properly.
