Rasik Bhai Fire Works

Rasik Bhai Fire Works is a local shop in Malad West, specifically at shop number 4 in the P M Ganger Chawl on Nagawara Road. We have been here for a long time, and everyone in the chawl knows us by name. The shop is filled with various kinds of fireworks, though it gets much busier when the festival season starts approaching. During the rest of the year, we keep things quiet and just manage the stock we have on the shelves. The space is small, as you would expect for a shop in a chawl, so we have to be very organized with how we store the crackers and the sparklers. We take safety seriously because of the materials we handle, so there are no candles or matches allowed inside. People from all over Malad come to see what we have, especially the kids who are looking for something that makes a lot of noise. Rasik Bhai himself is often sitting at the front, talking to the neighbors or helping someone pick out a box of ground spinners. The road outside can get very muddy when it rains, but the shop stays dry. We don't do any big marketing or have a fancy storefront, just a simple sign and the reputation we’ve built over the decades. It’s a traditional business, passed down and kept alive by the local community who comes back to us every year when it’s time to celebrate.
