Rare Finds

You can find us at Plot No-67 in the Jame Jamshed Building. It’s right in the 811 Parsi Colony area of Dadar East. This part of Mumbai is actually quite nice, with all the old trees and the quiet streets. Rare Finds is a small shop that we started because we liked collecting things. The building itself is quite old and has that classic look to it. We don’t have a big neon sign out front. It’s just a small place where we keep all the things we’ve gathered over time. It’s a bit of a jumble inside. You have to be careful where you step because there are boxes and items everywhere. My brother and I run the place. We don’t really have a set routine. We just open up in the morning and see who comes by. Some days it’s very quiet, and we just sit and read the paper. Other days, people are coming in and out all afternoon. We aren't trying to be a fancy antique gallery. We just like what we do. The Parsi Colony is a peaceful place to work. It’s different from the rest of the city. We spend a lot of time cleaning and dusting the stock, which is a job that never ends. We don't use a computer for much, just an old ledger to keep track of what comes and goes. It is a slow way to live, but it suits us just fine.
