Premier Book Centre

Premier Book Centre is located at 335 Lamington Road. We are right opposite the police station, so it’s a very easy spot to find if you are in the area. Lamington Road is always crowded and noisy, which is just part of being in this part of the city. We have been here for years, and the shop has a lot of history in its walls. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to fit in as many books as possible. You might have to squeeze past someone in the aisles. We don't have a modern layout or fancy lighting. It’s just wooden shelves and plenty of paper. Sometimes it’s hard to find things quickly, but we usually know where everything is tucked away. The police station across the street is a good landmark for people who haven't visited us before. We see all kinds of people coming in from the sidewalk. Some stay for a while, others just grab what they need and leave because of the traffic outside. We don't do much to change the place; it stays the same mostly year after year. We open the shutters in the morning and close them at night. It’s a simple life running a bookshop on a busy road like this. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in looking for something to read. It's what we know how to do.
