Hans Art

Hans Art is located at No 1/10 in the Jivdaya Co Operative Housing Society. We are right near the CID office on L B S Road in Ghatkopar West. It’s a busy part of Mumbai, and there is always a lot of noise outside from the cars and people walking by. Our space is filled with frames, paints, and different types of paper. We started this because we liked making things, and it just turned into a business over time. It’s a bit cluttered in here because art supplies take up a lot of room. We do framing for people who bring in their photos or paintings. Sometimes we have local artists stop by to pick up supplies. The lighting is a bit dim, but we have a couple of good lamps for the detail work. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We aren't looking to become some huge chain. We like being in this society and knowing our neighbors. Sometimes people just pop in to chat while we are working on a frame. We handle everything carefully, but we aren't precious about it. It’s just how we earn our bread. The floors are usually covered in a bit of sawdust or scraps of paper, but that's just part of the job. We stay open late most nights to finish orders and make sure the glass is clean. This shop has been our life for a long time now.
