You can find Ramesh Steel Corporation over at 74/76 Nanubhai Desai Road. We are inside the Muljibhai Building, specifically in unit 2/20. The building is quite old and the hallways are narrow, so moving heavy samples around is always a bit of a challenge. Our office is small, packed with ledger books and samples of different steel grades. It is the kind of place where everyone knows each other’s business because there are no walls between the desks. We deal with a lot of regular customers who have been coming to this same street for decades. Nanubhai Desai Road is famous for this kind of trade, so there is a lot of history in the bricks here. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you just pull up a stool and we talk about what you need. The fans overhead hum all day long to keep the air moving. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour, and we just sit by the window and wait for it to come back. It is not a corporate headquarters, just a place where we trade steel and keep our records. We use a lot of handwritten notes because it is faster than typing everything out. It is a bit dusty and the paint is peeling in the corners, but it is where we have worked for years and it feels like home to us. It is just how things are on this street.
