Raj Art

You can find Raj Art on the first floor of the Modern Wel building. We are in Room No 4. It’s near the Karthayayani Gubbi Cross and the post office. Being in Malad East is convenient. Our space is small and filled with art supplies. There are sketches pinned to the walls. Some of them are years old. The floor is stained with ink and paint. We don't bother cleaning it too much because it just gets dirty again. It shows we’ve been working. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep. We have to remind people to be careful. It’s not a professional gallery. It’s more like a workshop. We work late many nights. You can see our light on from the street. We drink a lot of coffee to keep going. We don't have a receptionist. If you come by, one of us will just look up from our work to say hello. It's a bit cluttered and messy. But we like it that way. It feels creative. We just want to make things. We don't care about being famous or big. Just having enough work to keep the lights on is enough for us. It’s a quiet life in our little room. We keep the window cracked open even when it is cold just to get some fresh air. The sounds from the street below are part of our day.
