Rachna Spinners LLP is tucked away in Kalbadevi, which is one of those parts of Mumbai that never seems to stop. We are in Shreenath Bhawan, on the 3rd floor in Room Number 15. The address is 436 Kalbadevi Road, specifically in the 1/3 Old Post Office Lane. If you know this area, you know how narrow the lanes are. It’s a real maze of old buildings and tiny shops. Getting up to the third floor can be a bit of a workout since it’s an older building, but we’ve been here for quite some time now. The room is packed with files and samples of yarn and thread. It feels a bit cramped sometimes with all the stuff we have to store, but it’s our space. We handle a lot of the spinning side of things from here. The noise from the street below always drifts up—honking horns and people shouting—but we’ve gotten used to it. It’s a very traditional business area, so most of our neighbors have been here for decades too. We usually start our day with a bit of cleaning and then dive into the orders. It’s not a high-tech setup, just some old desks and a lot of practical experience in the textile trade. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep the business running smoothly in this very busy part of the city.
