Our office is on the 1st floor of Sardar Niwas, which is in the C-4 section of Andheri East. It is a busy neighborhood, and you can always hear the hum of the city through the glass. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of computers and a whole lot of tangled cables running under the desks. We spend our time looking at data and making sure the network stays up and running like it should for everyone. It’s not a very big space, so we all sit pretty close to each other throughout the day. There is a small pantry where we keep the kettle for tea, and that’s usually the most popular spot in the morning. R Net Worldwide isn’t a place with marble floors or fancy art; it’s just where we come to work on the technical stuff. The walls are mostly bare, except for some diagrams and a clock that’s five minutes fast for some reason. We deal with a lot of blinking lights on routers and servers that hum quietly in the corner of the room. Sometimes the internet acts up and we have to scramble to figure out why, which usually involves a lot of checking plugs and typing commands. When the sun starts to set over Andheri, the office gets a bit quieter, but there’s always someone staying late to finish up. It’s just a regular office life with plenty of technical puzzles.
