We operate out of room 704 in the Shivaji Raje Complex over in Kandivali West. It’s a MHADA building, so it’s a pretty standard residential-style setup that we’ve made our own. We’ve been here for a few years now. The complex is always full of people and kids playing around in the common areas. It’s a lively atmosphere to work in. We do various media-related things, mostly focusing on local needs and projects. The office is just one of the rooms converted for work. It’s got everything we need, like our computers and some storage for our gear. Kandivali West is a big area, and being in the MHADA complex makes us feel part of the community here. We aren't some big agency with a glass building and a logo on the roof. We’re just local people doing our jobs every day. Sometimes the elevator in the building is slow or out of order, so we just take the stairs. We spend a lot of time editing or planning out stuff on our screens. Our neighbors are mostly families, so we try to keep the noise down and stay respectful. It’s a honest way to make a living for us. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If someone knocks on the door, one of us just gets up to answer it. It’s a practical way to run things without spending too much on unnecessary overhead. We know the shopkeepers downstairs well and the folks in the next building.
