If you come down to the Cotton Exchange Building, you’ll find Prime Worldwide Exports Llp on the ground floor at B-41. This building is old and has that specific smell of aged wood and heavy trade that you only get in the Cotton Green area. Being right by the railway station means there is a constant noise of trains and people rushing to get somewhere. It’s a busy corner of Mumbai. Our space is tucked away on Avenue 3rd Boundary Road. We keep the doors open mostly to let some air in because it gets quite stuffy in the afternoons. There are stacks of boxes everywhere because we do a lot of packing and moving things out. It’s not a quiet office where people sit in silence; there’s always someone talking on the phone or a courier guy trying to find where to drop off a parcel. We’ve got these high ceilings that are nice, but they make every sound echo. Most of us have been working here for years, so we know which floorboards creak and where the best snacks are sold outside the station. We don't have fancy carpets or glass walls, just sturdy tables and plenty of coffee to get through the paperwork. It’s a bit chaotic when three shipments come in at once, but we manage to get the labels sorted and the gates closed by evening.
