Chirag Bag

Our shop is Number 55/57 in the Prasad Shopping Centre. We are right opposite Goregaon, which is always a very busy spot to be in. Chirag Bag is a small place but we pack it full of all kinds of bags. From the floor to the ceiling, there are backpacks, suitcases, and handbags everywhere. It can be a bit of a maze inside sometimes. We spend most of our time helping people find the right size or showing them how the zippers work. The shopping centre gets quite crowded on the weekends so those are our longest days. We usually have a quick lunch behind the counter when we can. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We know most of the regular customers who walk by every day on their way to the station. The shop has been here for a long time and we’ve seen the types of bags people want change quite a bit. Nowadays everyone wants something for their laptop. We just try to keep enough stock so that there's something for everyone who walks in. It’s a simple life, just opening the shutters in the morning and closing them late at night. The noise from the street is constant but we don’t really notice it anymore. It’s just part of being in Goregaon. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on people stopping by while they are out and about.
