Pleasure Chocolate

Down in Mulund East, you’ll find us at Pleasure Chocolate. It’s a small operation where we focus on making different kinds of chocolates. We aren't in a big factory; it's just a local setup right here in the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time tempering the chocolate and making sure it sets right. Sometimes the temperature in the room gets too high, which is a real problem for chocolate, so we are always messing with the air conditioning to keep it just right. It’s a lot of repetitive work, wrapping individual pieces and putting them into boxes. Our hands are almost always smelling like cocoa. The shop itself is quite simple. We don’t have any of those fancy displays you see in the big malls. It’s just us and our workspace. Mulund East is a nice place to work, and we get a lot of people who stop in just to see what we are making. We don't have a big mission or anything. We just make the chocolate and sell it to whoever wants some. Some days the machines act up or we run out of wrappers, and we just have to figure it out as we go. It’s a small business, so we do everything ourselves, from the cooking to the cleaning to the selling. It’s hard work and it takes a lot of patience, but it’s what we do every day.
