We are situated at 6/K/5 on Road No 7 in Baiganwady, which is part of Govandi West. It’s a very busy neighborhood, and being near the Govandi Nursing Home means we see a lot of people coming and going at all hours. Parmar Chemist is the kind of place where we know many of our customers by their first names. Mumbai life is fast, and Govandi is no exception. We spend most of our time reaching for bottles on high shelves or checking prescriptions carefully. The shop is small, so we have to be very organized with where we put the medicines. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when several people come in at once, but we manage. Road No 7 is always full of activity, with bikes and people moving around. We have been here long enough that we feel like a fixture of the street. It’s not just about selling medicine; it’s about being there when someone needs something for a fever in the middle of a busy day. We keep a good stock of general items too, like soaps and creams. The noise from the street is constant, but inside, we just focus on the task at hand. It’s a humble setup, but it works for us and for the people in Baiganwady. Every day brings something different, depending on who walks through the door. I usually stay until late evening when the street finally starts to quiet down a little bit.
