About P G Patki Architects – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Mumbai
We spend most of our days here on the first floor of Calcot House. It’s an old building on Tamarind Lane. If you’ve ever walked down this part of the city, you know it’s a bit busy. Our office name is P G Patki Architects, and we’ve been at this spot for a while now. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, but once you get inside, there is plenty of space for the drawing boards and the computers. We mostly just focus on the projects at hand. Sometimes the noise from the street comes in through the windows, but you get used to it after a week or two. Tamarind Lane has its own rhythm. We usually start early in the morning before the heat really sets in. There are plenty of files stacked up, and we try to keep things organized, though it doesn't always stay that way during a big deadline. Working as P G Patki Architects means a lot of technical drawings and looking at site plans. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we get things done. Calcot House has a lot of character, even if it’s a bit worn in places. Most people who come to see us know the lane well. We just keep our heads down and work. It's a practical place for what we do. No frills, just desks and plans. Sometimes we have tea at the desks while looking at blueprints.
