We are situated at 123 Abdul Rehman Street. It is a very busy area, especially because we are so close to Crawford Market. Anyone who knows Mumbai knows this part of town is where everything happens. Orient Impex India has its office right here among the shops and the street vendors. The noise from the street is constant, with people shouting and horns honking at all hours. Our building is right in the middle of that chaos. Inside, it is a bit quieter, but there is still plenty of activity. We deal with imports and exports, so there are always papers to file and people to call. The 400003 area has a long history of trade, and we are just a small part of that tradition. Walking to the office from the station is always an adventure because the sidewalks are so full of goods. We have been here for a long time and know most of the people on the street. It is a practical place to work because everything we need is just a short walk away. We don't have a lot of extra space, so every corner of the office is used for something. Most days are spent tracking shipments or talking to agents. It is hard work but it keeps us busy. Being near Crawford Market means there is never a dull moment during the work week. We just get on with it and stay until the shutters go down.
