Ninety 9

I started Ninety 9 in this little spot at 9 Lil Niwas. We are right on Tilak Road in Ghatkopar East, directly across from the Gurukul School. It’s a convenient place because of the school. I see parents waiting around all the time. The shop itself is small, but I try to make use of every inch of space we have. I named it after the building number mostly. We have all sorts of items on the shelves. It’s a bit of a mix, whatever I think people in the neighborhood might need. Sometimes it’s stationery, sometimes it’s household bits and pieces. I don't really have a grand plan for it. I just wanted to have my own business close to home. The floor is a bit uneven in the back corner but nobody seems to mind. Ghatkopar East is always moving, so there is never a dull moment looking out the front door. I spend most of my day chatting with neighbors who stop by. It’s more of a social thing some days than a business. I don't use a computer for the accounts, I still prefer my notebook. It’s simpler that way and I don't have to worry about the power going out. If you're walking past Gurukul School, you'll see us. The sign isn't very big but people know we are here. It’s just a regular local shop. Nothing more, nothing less.
