Nazrana Steel & Wood Furniture

We started Nazrana Steel & Wood Furniture quite a long time ago. It’s right there at Prabha Apartments in Goregaon West, specifically in Shop No 14. Most days you'll find us busy with wood or welding steel frames together. It gets pretty dusty in here, but that's just part of the job. People usually come in looking for a simple cupboard or maybe a new desk for their home. We just build what's needed without any fuss. It’s not a fancy showroom with bright lights and cold air conditioning. We are right opposite Bombay Plywood, which is really handy whenever we run out of glue or nails. Sometimes we end up working late into the evening just to finish a dining table on time. It's just a few of us here doing the actual labor. We handle the hammers, the drills, and the saws ourselves. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that, just this small shop. People from the neighborhood know us by name now. They drop by to ask if we can fix a broken chair leg or make a new bed frame that actually fits their room. We try to be fair and honest with the work. Goregaon gets very busy, especially on this main road. We’ve seen the shops around us change every year, but we are still here making things from scratch. Wood smells good when you first cut into it. Steel is harder to work with but it lasts a lifetime. That's what we do.
