Our office is tucked away in Shriji Kripa over in Prabhat Colony, right near the Reliance Energy building. We’ve been operating the National Society Of Prevention Of Heart Disea from this spot in Santacruz East for quite some time. It is a small space, filled mostly with flyers and old wooden desks. We spend our days talking to people about keeping their hearts healthy, which sounds simple but keeps us very busy. Most of the time, we’re just answering phones or helping visitors who walk in off Reliance Energy Road. It’s not a high-tech clinic, just a group of us trying to share what we know about staying well. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which is nice for the kind of work we do. Sometimes we have meetings where we sit around and plan how to reach more families in the local area. We don't have a massive budget or a big PR team. It’s just practical advice and community support. You’ll usually find one of us here making tea or organizing some paperwork. We’ve seen a lot of changes in Santacruz over the years, but the goal of keeping people aware of their health hasn't really changed for us. We try to be a resource for anyone who feels a bit overwhelmed by medical jargon. It is basic, honest work that we feel is important for the people living around here. We just take things one day at a time.
