Being up here at 1401 Raheja Centre in Nariman Point gives us a decent view, but we don’t spend much time looking out the window. H. R. Exports is mostly about papers, phones, and making sure things get where they need to go on time. It can be pretty stressful when a shipment is delayed or the paperwork isn’t sitting right. Our office is full of filing cabinets that are bulging at the seams, and there’s always a printer humming somewhere in the background. We aren't a massive operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a handful of us trying to keep track of everything. The elevator in this building is always slow, so we get a lot of reading done while waiting to go down for lunch. We eat at our desks more often than not because there’s always a call coming in from a different time zone. It’s a lot of staring at screens and checking lists. We don't use any fancy talk or try to sound bigger than we are. We just handle the exports and try to stay organized, which is harder than it sounds some days. The coffee machine is probably the most important piece of equipment we own. By the time five o'clock rolls around, the bins are full of shredded paper and we’re usually ready to head home, but there’s always one last email that needs an answer before we can finally switch off the lights and lock up.
