Mumbai Ladoo Samrat

Mumbai Ladoo Samrat at Lal Baug is located right at Habib Terrace. This neighborhood is always crowded, especially during the festival season. Our day starts very early when we begin mixing the gram flour and sugar for the day. The smell fills the whole terrace area. We have been in this building for quite some time now. The walls are a bit stained from the steam and the heat of the large cooking pots. Most of the people working here are from the same village back home, so we speak our own language while we work. We don't really do much advertising because the local families already know where we are. They come for their boxes of sweets every weekend. It gets very hot in the afternoons, but we just keep the windows open to catch a breeze. You can hear the traffic down on the main road and the shouting of the vendors below. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the evening and have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s not a perfect system, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time packing boxes and tying them with that thin white string. It’s honest work and we like seeing the same customers grow up and bring their own kids here. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in Mumbai, just a steady one in Lal Baug 41276.
