We are located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, specifically in the 400009 area. It’s a busy part of the city, and our office definitely reflects that energy. We are a team of architects and planners, but we don’t have a fancy corporate office with glass walls. Instead, we have a workspace that’s practical and filled with the tools of our trade. There are maps of Mumbai neighborhoods pinned to the walls and stacks of planning documents on almost every flat surface. We spend a lot of time figuring out how to make buildings work in the limited space this city offers. It’s a lot of technical work, dealing with the municipal rules and making sure every square inch of a plan is used properly. We don’t use any marketing fluff or try to act like we’re bigger than we are. We just do the work. The office can be a bit noisy because of the street outside, but we’re used to it. Most of our day is spent either at the computer or out at various sites around the city. We take our work seriously but we keep the atmosphere in the office pretty relaxed and human. We don’t have a big mission statement; we just aim to get the drawings right so that the buildings actually get finished. It’s a lot of coffee, a lot of phone calls to contractors, and a lot of staring at site plans until they make sense.
