Monicas Chocolates

We are located on the ninth floor of the Z-Wing in the Golden Rays building. It is in Shastri Nagar, Versova, so we have a decent view of the area, though we spend most of our time looking at chocolate instead of the window. This isn't a big factory; it is more of a specialized kitchen setup. We deal with cocoa, butter, and all the things that go into making chocolates. Working in Andheri West means it is always busy outside, but inside here, we try to keep things cool so the chocolate doesn't melt. It is a constant battle with the Mumbai humidity. We do a lot of the work by hand, like the tempering, molding, and wrapping of each piece. It is a bit tedious sometimes, especially when we have a big order for a wedding or a party. The kitchen smells amazing, which is probably the best part of working here every day. We have a few small tables where we do the final packing. Sometimes we run out of space when there are too many boxes piled up near the door. Monica is usually around, checking on the batches or talking to people on the phone about their orders. We don't have a storefront, so people usually call us or come by the building to pick up their boxes. It is a small team, and we all end up doing a bit of everything, from washing the molds to writing out the labels. It is a quiet kind of work compared to the noisy streets below.
