We are down on the ground floor of Husain Mansion, which is number 168/180 on Shaida Marg. This part of Chinchbunder is always crowded with people and handcarts moving things around. Our space at No-67 is a bit cramped because of all the bags of minerals we have to keep around for samples. The walls are an old shade of yellow and the ceiling is high, like many of the old buildings around here. Working on Shaida Marg means you get used to the shouting of the loaders and the constant honking from the street. We spend a lot of time weighing out small batches or checking the grit of a new shipment. It’s dusty work, and you usually go home with a bit of white powder on your shoes. The office desk is an old wooden one that’s seen better days, but it holds the computer and the ledger just fine. We get people walking in off the street asking for things we don't sell, but that’s just life in a busy market area. Logistics is the biggest headache here because getting a truck close to the building is a real challenge. We have to coordinate with the local guys to move stuff in and out during the few quiet hours we get. It’s a lot of hustle every single day and the street lights outside usually flicker in the evenings.
