Mihir Thakar Architects

Mihir Thakar Architects is located in Unit 2B on the 2nd Floor of Building 11/12 in the Raghuwanshi Mills Compound. The compound is a bit of a maze if you don't know your way around, and it has that old industrial feel to it. Our office has high ceilings and some of the original pipes showing, which we just left as they were. It’s a big open space with a lot of echoes when it’s empty, but usually, it’s full of us talking and working. We have long rows of desks and a lot of shelving for material samples like stones, tiles, and wood blocks. The commute to Lower Parel can be tough with the train crowds, so everyone usually arrives a bit frazzled. We spend a lot of time on our computers, but we still do a lot of sketching by hand on butter paper. The windows look out onto other buildings in the mill area, so there isn't much of a view, just more brick and glass. We have a small area with a table for when we need to eat lunch or have a quick chat about a project. It’s a working office, so there are wires everywhere and stacks of magazines that we flip through for ideas. The air conditioner hums constantly in the background to combat the Mumbai humidity outside. It is just where we spend our hours.
